Coachella revelers slam ‘diabolical’ cost of food and drink as onlookers left in disbelief

Coachella revelers have come out in their droves to slam the ‘diabolical’ cost of food and drink inside the venue.

The iconic festival held in Indio, California – which runs across two weekends – attracts more than 100,000 music lovers each year including a slew of A-list celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Jeff Bezos.

Lady Gaga, Charli xcx, Green Day, Post Malone and Megan Thee Stallion are among the star-studded lineup for 2025 – but all the glitz and glam is coming at a cost for attendees.

Not only have guests so far had to battle car park chaos and near record-breaking temperatures, but many are only just discovering how much they will be forking out on supplies during the event.

Taking to TikTok to air her grievances on Friday evening, known to festivalgoers as ‘day zero,’ Ruth Viveros shared a video titled: ‘Come have dinner with me at Coachella.’

Filming herself approaching a food truck, she started: ‘I’m starving so let’s go get tacos… while I wait for the tacos I got a $17 lemonade.

‘It’s mostly ice but it’s so good.’

Ruth then cut to show two servings of tacos and one of nachos resting on the ground in polystyrene cartons.

‘$102 worth of food guys… I’m not going to lie, they are not good. They are not good at all. The tortillas were like freezing cold.’

One wrote: ‘Coachella seems like a miserable money trap that everyone falls for.’

Another shared: ‘The fact that GENERAL ADMISSION is $600 and you still have to pay that much for mid food is making me irrationally angry.’

Others did not hold back either as they branded the prices as ‘diabolical,’ ‘criminal’ and ‘ridiculous.’

But it seems like Ruth is not alone in being shocked at the high cost of food and drink from vendors.

In a Reddit thread devoted to Coachella, one person asked about food prices inside the venue – and was flooded by the replies.

‘Expensive. Most items start at $15-20. “Meals” are like $20-30,’ one disgruntled attendee replied.

‘Basically 2.5x the price you can grab it outside the festival,’ another added.

Other guests claimed it was $11 for a slice of pepperoni pizza, $20 for chicken tenders with fries, and $30 for a chicken slider with fries.
