Chris Eubank Jr makes incredible five-figure gesture as boxer ramps up the mind games with Conor Benn ahead of grudge match

Chris Eubank Jr has revealed that he has compensated undercard fighters who were scheduled to box on his originally scheduled clash with Conor Benn.

While there’s less than ten days remaining before Eubank Jr and Benn headline the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium their rivalry stretches years, and the pair were set to meet across twelve rounds back in 2022.

That year the pair were scheduled to box at the O2 Arena before the event was ultimately cancelled just three days before fight night after Benn failed a pre-fight drugs test.

A two-year court battle followed as Benn, who has always maintained his innocence, sought to clear his name before his BBbofC suspension was lifted in November.

According to Eubank Jr the undercard fighters scheduled to compete on that 2022 card were not compensated for their training camps when the event was cancelled.

The 35-year-old claimed the decision ‘never sat well with me’ and shared a screenshot on social media appearing to show payouts of over £3500 being sent to ten fighters that were set to appear, including his cousin Harlem Eubank.

He wrote: ‘After my first scheduled bout with @ConorNigel got cancelled… @EddieHearn & @MatchroomBoxing never compensated anyone for their training camps, which never sat well with me.

‘So here’s a little something to help out the undercard fighters that were left out of pocket.

‘[A] few boxers didn’t want to give me their bank details… maybe they will now.’

Former WBA bantamweight champion Shannon Courtenay replied: ‘man of his word – thank you’ to Eubank Jr’s post on Instagram.
