Arab Defense Website November 2, 2024: The Chinese defense manufacturing company Norinco will present, at the Zhuhai Air Show, the latest version of the VT-4 main battle tank, which features an advanced set of anti-drone capabilities.
The updated model, called the VT-4A1, includes a drone jammer along with other defensive improvements, intended to provide greater resilience against the growing threat of drones on modern battlefields.
Norinco, China’s leading military contractor, developed the VT-4 specifically for export, marketing it as a third-generation main battle tank with strong armor and combat capability. The VT-4A1, an advanced version of the VT-4 (MBT-3000) platform, is designed to counter the growing drone threat by integrating a Remote Weapon Station (RWS), Active Protection System (APS) and advanced electronic jamming technology.
