Arab Defense Website November 9, 2024: China officially revealed the first images of its CH-7 stealth drone, which is… vehicle Advanced combat drone developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
This aircraft, also known as the Rainbow-7, bears notable design similarities to a long-range strategic bomber B-21 Raider American, a top-secret stealth bomber, sparking debates about the origins of its technology. The CH-7’s sleek flying-wing configuration reduces radar detection, minimizes thermal signatures, and reduces acoustic detectability – attributes essential for stealth missions in high-risk environments.
The Chinese-made CH-7 is designed for high-altitude, long-duration missions, including reconnaissance, intelligence gathering and precision strikes on high-value targets. The CH-7 is approximately 10 meters long with a wingspan of 22 metres, and is powered by a single turboprop that allows it to reach speeds between Mach 0.5 and Mach 0.6, with a top speed of Mach 0.75. It can operate at altitudes of up to 13,000 metres, with a flight duration of about 15 hours and an operational range of up to 2,000 kilometres. It has a maximum take-off weight of around 13,000 kilograms, with an internal weapons bay designed to maintain its low radar signature and support stealth.
