Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, stated that the Council is preparing to launch the “Sow… Reap” initiative. Under the slogan of a happy child, the beginning of a long life, its goal is to establish a childhood without violence, pointing out that this initiative will be implemented in cooperation and partnership with a number of parties concerned with children’s rights, in continuation of a long journey begun by the Council to end violence against children in all its forms. This comes within the framework of the initiative. Presidential “A new beginning for building humanity.”
This came during the regular meeting of members of the Board of Directors of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, with the participation of Dr. Hiam Nazif, Vice President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, via the Zoom application, and in the presence of Dr. Wael Abdel Razek, Secretary-General of the National Council. For Childhood and Motherhood, and members of the Board of Directors, Dr. Ghada Al-Dari, Dr. Sameh Awad, Dr. Karam Malak, Abdel Latif Sobhi, Dr. Nour Osama, Omar Hegazy, Mai Zein El-Din, Sarah Aziz, Dina Sayed Abdel-Wahab, and Mireille Naseem.
Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati reviewed the efforts of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood during the last period, as well as the role of the General Administration for Child Relief in urgent intervention. To protect children at risk, in addition to the Council’s participation in the second edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development, which was held during the period from 21-25 October 2024 under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where the Council participated in a number of sessions, the focus of which was child protection, such as the " Anti-medicalization of female genital mutilation and the health and well-being of girls in Egypt" “Unlocking the power of healthy longevity” And a session “Early Childhood Development” And participating in the discussion session with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, entitled “Including the Disability Perspective is the Key to Achieving Comprehensive Development,” praising the organization and success of the conference in its second edition.
The meeting also witnessed an open discussion to express an opinion on the national strategic framework and the plan. The National Council for Childhood and Motherhood 2018-2030, and the axes for updating and formulating the National Plan for Childhood and Motherhood 2024-2030, and linking it to sustainable development indicators to promote and protect children’s rights, based on the role assigned to the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in developing policies and strategies for implementing children’s rights with a participatory approach.< /p>
