Chiefs suffer HUGE injury blow as star running back Isiah Pacheco fractures his fibula in win over Bengals
Kansas City Chiefs star running back Isiah Pacheco has a fractured fibula and is using a walking boot and crutches after getting injured in Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium.
As first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Pacheco is expected to miss some time for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. However, an exact timeline for his return has yet to be determined as the former Rutgers star has only gone through preliminary tests.
The injury apparently occurred with just two minutes left in the game when Pacheco was bent backwards during a tackle by one Bengals player while another defender held onto his leg.
The drive ended with Harrison Butker kicking a game-winning, 51-yard field goal as time expired.
Pacheco had 19 carries for 90 yards on Sunday, but was pulled in the fourth quarter.

After Sunday’s win, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the team was waiting on test results, but expected to hear some bad news.
‘The only major injury would be Isiah Pacheco,’ Reid said. ‘He’s having tests on it now — X-Rays all that stuff.’
Reid ultimately backed off giving any specific information.
‘I don’t actually know right now. I’ve just got to see,’ Reid said. ‘They’re doing all the stuff right now, so I haven’t really had a chance to talk to him or anything about it.’
The win moved the two-time defending-champion Chiefs to 2-0 on the season.
The Chiefs are already without running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who is reportedly battling PTSD as a result of an undisclosed incident.
‘Sometimes I’m admitted into the hospital, something like I can’t stop throwing up and it’s just, I [don’t] know [anything] pretty much to stop it,” Edwards-Helaire told reporters in August.
Without Pacheco or Edwards-Helaire, the Chiefs are left with a backfield of veteran Samaje Perine and 21-year-old rookie Carson Steele.
