Abu Dhabi, 1st August, 2018 (WAM) — The Central Bank of the UAE and Dubai Courts signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at the Central Bank’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi regarding the electronic linking of services related to the implementation of judgments, orders and decisions issued by the courts to the Central Bank’s court case management system.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Khalid Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE, and His Excellency Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts, in the presence of officials from both parties.
The signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of the joint endeavor to implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Program to improve the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of services, and the state’s strategy regarding the digital transformation of services provided to individuals and the business sector, and to consolidate the bonds of coordination and cooperation in various fields, and to establish effective mechanisms and means, including electronic linkage to accelerate and activate the implementation of judgments, orders and decisions issued by Dubai Courts, within the jurisdiction of the Central Bank, in accordance with the controls and procedural rules of the court cases management system at the Central Bank.
His Excellency Khalid Mohammed Balama said: “The signing of the MoU comes within the framework of the Central Bank’s keenness to embody the vision of the wise leadership in enhancing the digital transformation strategy and activating the mechanisms of integration and partnership and exchanging expertise and experiences with all federal and local entities to provide pioneering institutional services to individual clients, business owners and partners with international standards, in a way that enhances the country’s leadership and competitiveness in global indicators, and supports the process of sustainable development.”
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts, said: “The MoU strengthens the bonds of joint work with the Central Bank in the field of electronic connectivity, which in turn opens new horizons to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and speed in the implementation of judgments, orders and judicial decisions issued by Dubai Courts. It also paves the way for a new phase of excellence in achieving the goals of electronic connectivity in line with the joint efforts to advance the smart transformation process and build the smartest and happiest city in the world, in line with the insightful vision and wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him.”
His Excellency stressed that this step serves the efforts of Dubai Courts to ensure effective justice characterised by accuracy and speed and to provide distinguished judicial services that ensure the happiness of clients and uphold the values of justice, independence and transparency.
