Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis has left fans divided after she chowed down on a controversial dish in a new video posted to TikTok.
In the clip, which was posted on Tuesday, De Laurentiis showed herself eating pasta covered in chocolate, as she declared that nothing was ‘more comforting.’
‘Listen, it’s not the sexiest of dishes, but it’s dang good,’ the Everyday Italian star shared, as she mixed the contents of the bowl.
During the video, she also showed viewers how they can make their own chocolate pasta and began by pouring some noodles into a pot of boiling water.
‘You know, this started when I was a kid,’ she explained, as she strained the cooked noodles into a bowl.
‘My mom used to do it with Nutella or chocolate chips – whatever – but I’m also the kid who had chocolate sandwiches for breakfast, so I don’t think it’s that weird,’ she continued.
Once the cooked pasta was in the bowl, she topped it with some chocolate hazelnut spread by the brand Pariani, which she said was just a bit ‘cleaner’ as it contained real hazelnut.
She drizzled a few spoonfuls over the pasta, and then mixed it all together.

And, as a finishing touch, she grated some Italian chocolate over the top of the dish.
‘It’s like your parmesan cheese,’ she said, before savoring a big bite.
‘I challenge you guys to try it sometime,’ De Laurentiis said at the end of the clip.
However, it looks like the Giada at Home star’s recipe didn’t exactly appeal to everyone, as many fans were divided over the interesting dish in the comments section of her post.
‘Giada, I love you like cooked food but this is a bridge too far,’ one person wrote.
Another agreed, ‘Giada, now I know you’re playing with meeeee.’
‘Giada… I love you… but no,’ someone else typed.
A second user penned, ‘I’m calling the police.’
