Can’t afford a Dyson Airwrap? Coles sends beauty fans running over its new ‘dupe’: ‘I need this’

Coles shoppers are ‘blown away’ after discovering what they believe to be an affordable alternative to Dyson’s Airwrap for just a fraction of the price.

Laila Cooke, from Melbourne, got her hands on the $99 hair styling tool as part of the supermarket’s Best Buys sale.

The beauty gadget comes with the five attachments you need to create voluminous curls, natural waves and smooth blow-dry finishes.

After washing her hair, Laila decided to give the tool a go to see whether it was worth the money.

‘It’s not quite as grippy as the real Dyson – but definitely does the job,’ she said in her verdict after trying out the product, claiming: ‘PSA Aussie girlies – $99 Dyson Airwrap dupe at Coles – thank me later.’

She started with the dryer attachment, taking her hair from wet to damp while switching between medium and high heat.

‘I’m actually pretty impressed,’ Laila said.

‘It didn’t feel very strong but it did dry my hair pretty quick. I’m going to say it took about two to three minutes?’

Then she moved on to the ‘best’ part: the curling barrell attachment, a tool known for creating loose, bouncy waves.

‘I’m pretty happy with the curls, I think it’s good,’ she said.

To lock in curls and add volume to her hair, she placed each section in a roller after using the barrell attachment on it.

‘I’m going to do the rest of my hair (like this),’ she explained.

Once she styled her hair with the tool, she removed all the rollers from her tresses to reveal salon-quality curls.

‘Considering I got this from my local supermarket, I am pretty impressed and I would recommend,’ Laila said.

The hair styling tool is only around for a limited time only so you’ll need to be quick.

‘I work at Coles. I put all new Best Buys products in every Friday. There was only around six of these per store. Once sold they don’t come back for another year,’ one employee commented under the video.

Laila’s video has been viewed more than 155,000 times – with many saying they couldn’t wait to get their hands on one.

‘OMG obsessed,’ one said.

‘Get out! I’m so impressed,’ another shared.

‘I need this,’ one revealed.

Meanwhile, many shoppers raced out to Coles to snap up the beauty buy.

‘I ran to Coles at 8am but they sold out. So I ran to another store and I got it,’ one shared.

‘This is great as I can buy it and my husband will think I got groceries,’ another joked.

‘I saw this and immediately went and bought one, I can’t wait to test it out,’ one added.
