Call Her Daddy viewers share theory about Alex Cooper’s latest look

Call Her Daddy viewers have shared a theory behind Alex Cooper’s latest look after fans and critics alike noticed a sudden change in her appearance.

The podcast host has built a massive following amid the success of her show which ranked as Spotify’s second-biggest podcast of 2023.

But despite the popularity, her eagle-eyed audience doesn’t hold back when discussing their views, with speculation brewing on a Reddit thread over how her face looked in a recent episode featuring Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton.

Amid concern over the texture of her skin, many claimed Alex might have undergone a PDO thread lift.

The minimally-invasive procedure uses dissolvable threads to tighten and lift the skin.

‘Yeah maybe threads that broke, creating this rippling like effect,’ suggested one viewer.

‘This looks very much like the other thread mishaps I’ve seen. Yikes,’ added a second.

‘I’m not opposed to cosmetic procedures, but something about the concept of a thread lift makes me viscerally disgusted like no other procedure,’ said another.

Eagle-eyed viewers to the Call Her Daddy podcast have been sharing theories as to what may have happened to the face of popular host Alex Cooper

‘The whole concept of it is very disturbing. Idk how women get those,’ wrote one online.

A series of other comments flooded the post, many agreeing Cooper’s face looked ‘different’ compared to earlier photos and videos.

‘The makeup or filter makes her look like a wax candle,’ wrote one commenter.

‘She looks very Madame Tussaudsesque lol,’ agreed another.

Observers noted specific areas, such as her cheeks, jawline, lips, and forehead, as had a more refined or exaggerated appearance leading to some widespread theories ranging from bad makeup techniques to cosmetic procedures.

‘She’s literally wearing more makeup here than on her wedding day,’ quipped one user while providing a theory for the ‘weird lines’.

‘Maybe it’s lumpy/migrated filler that was supposed to smooth out the nasolabial folds?’

While Cooper herself has not publicly addressed the rumors, fans continued to offer several potential explanations.

‘I have listened to so many horror stories about how they actually feel in your face when they pop. And they can leave terrible scarring that prevents you from getting a face lift eventually.’

What is a ‘thread lift’ and how are they different from a facelift?

Thread lifts – or suspension face lifts –  are often referred to as the ‘lunchtime facelifts’ due to their speedy completion and lack of lengthy recovery time. They’ve been around for more than a decade but have recently gained popularity.

The first thread lifts were pioneered in Europe using threads made from tendons, nylon and gold in the 1970s, this was then followed by the use of prolene and the creation of the ‘anti-ptosis’ or APTOS (barbed) threads in the late 1990s.

APTOS threads offer a less invasive alternative to a surgery without the risks and downtime associated with going under the knife.

Thread lifting is a procedure which involves lifting tissues that have started to sag due to age and the downward force of gravity. Threads are inserted using needles or cannulas and may need to be anchored, pulled taut or simply placed in meshworks.

Unlike dermal fillers, which can migrate away from the treatment area causing unintentional lumps, the threads are not able to move from their original position, which also reduces the risk of the blood vessels becoming disturbed or damaged.

The threads dissolve completely and safely, meaning the procedure is non-permanent.

The results are significantly longer lasting than dermal fillers with the effects expected to last two years and the thread encourages natural collagen production, which adds further structure, firmness and contour to the area.

A thread lift can be more suited to men and women between the ages of 35 and 70, as the procedure is most effective on skin that has minimal sagging and laxity and offers the best results for cheeks, jowls, brows and the neck area.

Some suggested that the marks may have been caused by professional makeup techniques, combined with some strategically played lighting.

Contouring, highlighter, and expertly applied foundation can enhance certain features, making them appear more pronounced.

‘It’s a bad mixture of heavy makeup, lots of work done on her face and probably just her lifestyle in general? Idk but it does NOT look good huh,’ comments another.

During the episode, guests Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie revealed the real reason behind their feud nearly two decades ago but fans are not so convinced they are telling the truth.

The two reality stars, both now 43, are celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Simple Life and touched on several different topics including the fracturing of their friendship in 2005.

At the time the two had actually filmed season 4 of their reality show separately and the 30-year-old podcast host pulled no punches as she asked about it.

Nicole first prefaced it by saying that the real reason wouldn’t ‘be good enough’ as ‘nothing really happened.’

Paris then went on to blame the way they were covered as she cited that it was a way for publications to sell magazines.

She said: ‘Back then, the media was just so toxic and they loved starting feuds between people.’

The mother-of-two went on to explain: ‘So it was mostly the media just spinning things and creating drama that didn’t exist, which was normal in the 2000s. They did it with everyone.’

Nicole added that the fact that they were in their early 20s was also to blame as they ‘didn’t know how to communicate with each other,” which meant that “if [they] were hearing something, [they] would assume [it was true].

‘We didn’t have the communication skills we have right now to have check-ins, which is so important.’

The daughter of Lionel Richie went on to say that the time away from each other makes her ‘sad to think about a time without [her] friend.

‘I think it has really helped me [with] communicating at this stage in my life.

‘And I think just with all relationships, it’s so important to have check-ins and to be honest and real and, you know, tender with the people that you love the most.’
