Caleb Williams hurt with seconds left in Chicago Bears vs Cardinals – after being kept on in blowout loss

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams limped off the field with seconds left on the clock after inexplicably being kept on the field during his team’s heavy loss to Arizona Cardinals.

With less than 30 seconds on the clock and Bears 20 points behind the Cardinals, Williams took a hit and crawled into space before rolling over holding the back of his left leg.

He then slowly climbed to his feet and limped off the field in deeply concerning scenes for the Bears and their rookie quarterback.

Quite why Bears coach Matt Eberflus had kept his quarterback on the field with the game gone for his team was unclear. But it could be a season-ending decision if Williams is badly hurt.

Sunday’s loss leaves the Bears 4-4 for the season and last in the NFC North.

‘I’m sorry, this just does not make sense to me,’ Charles Davis said on CBS as he called the game.

‘This is your rookie quarterback. I don’t think he should have been out there for the two minutes.’
