Bunnings shocks with surprise delivery announcement ahead of Christmas: ‘This is huge’

Bunnings Warehouse and Uber Australia have joined forces to offer same-day delivery across Australia.

A staggering 45 metropolitan Bunnings stores and 63 regional stores spanning across every state and territory will offer the new service during the busy holiday season.

Customers who place an order online by 2pm will receive the delivery by 7pm that day. But regional locations are limited to parcel-sized deliveries only.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to view which stores offer same-day parcel delivery via the online checkout and the service will cost $15.

Deliveries are limited to a 15km radius from participating Bunnings stores.

The partnership comes at the perfect time as shoppers scramble for last-minute Christmas gifts.

Bunnings Chief Operating Officer, Ryan Baker, said Bunnings is committed to offering our customers the best experience, widest range and lowest prices.

‘Some customers value coming in to the store to browse, talk to the team and enjoy the Bunnings experience such as a coffee in the cafe or the sausage sizzle hosted by a local community group. But for others, the convenience of delivery is preferred,’ Mr Baker said.

‘This builds on our current same day parcel delivery offering across metro Australia, bringing more convenience to our regional customers, and hopefully helping to ease some of the stress this time of year can bring,’ he added.

Duncan Petit, General Manager of Uber Direct ANZ added: ‘We’re helping Bunnings beat the festive freeze on delivery, allowing their busy regional customers the flexibility and convenience of shopping right up until 2pm on 23 December.

‘Bunnings is offering economical same-day parcel delivery for its customers via Uber’s delivery network with a flat fee for all same-day deliveries placed online.’

Bunnings released a new rechargeable neck fan and Aussies have already dubbed it ‘amazing’.

The buy is perfect for those looking to keep cool – especially after the scorching heatwave that spread across Australia’s southeast recently with temperatures soaring 15 degrees above average.

Shoppers have also commended the product’s chic design that looks like a high-tech accessory that can dress up any outfit.

Many have given the buy five-star reviews and sung its praises online.

‘I’m perimenopausal and I’m on my way to Bunnings right now,’ a woman said.

‘I just ordered mine – can’t wait to use it at work,’ another wrote.

‘Great for the travel to and from work – especially on trains with no aircon!’ a third revealed.
