Brett Favre slams ‘election hate’ as NFL legend gets set to speak at Donald Trump rally tonight
Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre has been backing Donald Trump for political office for nearly a decade, yet this Presidential race has more ‘election hate’ than any previous, with the former Packer slamming the rise in hateful rhetoric.
Favre is set to speak at one of Trump’s last rallies before the election on Wednesday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he played for 16 NFL seasons.
Favre posted to his social media about the election, giving his thoughts on the amount of hate in political discourse.
‘In all the elections I’ve seen over my lifetime, I’ve never seen one where there was so much hate,’ Favre said. ‘It’s certainly sad to see.’
Favre is backing a candidate who some view to have been the catalyst for more hateful rhetoric entering the political landscape ever since he first announced his candidacy for President in 2015.

Favre’s last endorsement of Trump was unsuccessful, as the former President lost his bid for reelection in 2020 to Joe Biden.
Trump is the Republican nominee for President for the third time running, tied for the American record for one party.
Favre has stayed in the headlines over the last few years over a welfare scandal in the state of Mississippi, where he was named as a defendant.
The Viking and Jet testified in front of the Congressional Ways and Means Committee back in September about the matter.
In the case, around $77million in funds meant for families in need was redirected to wealthy families. Favre pushed state officials for funding for Southern Miss’s volleyball facility as that time while his daughter was on the team.
Favre has denied any wrongdoing and has not been criminally charged.
Trump has less than one week until his third Presidential election left to campaign, hoping the support of Favre can help him win one of the important swing states of Wisconsin.
