Brazen moment ‘miserable lowlife’ is caught committing a dog act on mother’s doorstep

A brazen thief has been captured red-handed on CCTV stealing groceries from a front doorstep in broad daylight.

Adelaide mum Eliza Bolton was busy at home attending to her baby on Tuesday afternoon, when her $170 Woolworths order delivered moments earlier was taken by the man.

She has since shared the CCTV to a community Facebook page in the hope of tracking down the thief.

The footage showed the unidentified man casually walking up to Ms Bolton’s door and taking the Woolworths bags without even checking the contents.

Dressed in a white T-shirt, shorts and a bucket hat, the man placed the bags in the rear tray of a ute parked nearby.

Though the man’s face was largely obscured from view, he appeared to be slender and pale-skinned.

‘I was inside the house with my baby and opened the door two minutes after he left,’ Ms Bolton captioned the footage.

‘If you recognise this guy and have any information please let me know.’

Separate CCTV posted by her partner was recorded from directly above the front door.

Ms Bolton described the incident as ‘crazy’ and hopes the thief will be tracked down by police.

A South Australian Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the investigation ‘remains ongoing’.

No arrests on charges have yet been laid.

A Woolworths spokesperson said the grocery order had been reissued and was delivered on Wednesday.

‘The customer reported this incident to us and also the police, who are now looking into the matter,’ they said.

Locals were quick to condemn the ‘utter scumbag’ and rally behind the young mum.

‘This is the last thing you need with a baby!’ one said.

‘Too bad if it had nappies or formula you really needed and had been struggling to get to the shops with an unsettled baby!

‘Sorry this happened to you absolutely not ok!

‘I get people are struggling right now but so could the people ordering the groceries too so no excuse!’

Others branded the theft as ‘disgusting’ and hoped the thief would soon be caught.

‘Let’s hope this lowlife gets caught eventually,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘Lowlife scum. Distinctive clothing, someone may know him,’

Another suspected the man may have been following the Woolworths delivery vehicle.

‘I suspect … he already knew those bags were there,’ one man said.

‘If you were driving normally you wouldn’t spot them in passing and be able to stop in such a short distance.’
