Bradley Cooper, Ana de Armas, Cynthia Erivo, Martha Stewart and many more bold-faced names made their way Uptown on Thursday night to celebrate Louis Vuitton’s new store opening on 57th street in Manhattan.
The sprawling five-floor building is a temporary store ahead of the multi-year renovation of the Fifth Avenue flagship — whose scaffolding was geniusly transformed into a supersized LV Trunk. But it’s hard to imagine a more luxe space than the ad-hoc one feted this week, which features a soaring atrium installation and a multi-floor activation highlighting Louis Vuitton’s most iconic collaborations. The highly Instagrammable Yayoi Kusama installation on the third floor, decked in the designer’s signature colored dots, may just be New York’s answer to the Melrose Pink Wall.
Celebrities, influencers and many of Louis Vuitton’s top buyers – most clad in LV monogram — roamed the floors, which featured artisan hand painters, custom live drawings and a very popular martini bar. After posing for photos, Stewart, flanked by security, made her way to the café on the top floor, where she paid her respects to renowned head chef Christophe Bellanca.
Meanwhile, Francesca Scorsese posed for photos in a phone booth activation. While her director father Martin Scorsese is often by her side at red carpet events, she rode this one solo with friends. The pair are still cooking up viral TikToks together. “I’ll bring up ideas to him and we’ll talk it out. We’ll have a little meeting and it’s fun,” she tells Variety.
One idea she brought to him was given an immediate veto, though. “I wanted to do a Halloween video, I was gonna dress him up as the man from ‘Up’ and I was gonna be the dog and film him. And he was like, ‘No, I will not do that.’”
