Boxing legend Jeff Fenech’s daughter reveals a VERY anti-woke secret to her romance with NRL star Bradman Best
Jeff Fenech’s daughter Kayla has revealed that one of the secrets to her romance with NRL star Bradman Best is the fact she believes it’s a ‘woman’s job’ to do all the household chores.
Fenech has been with the Newcastle Knights and NSW State of Origin star since they met over social media last year.
She said her boxing icon father ‘went apes***’ when she first told him about the relationship, with Jeff revealing Best won him over by treating his daughter ‘beautifully’.
Now Kayla has opened up about the romance in detail and revealed she refuses to allow the 23-year-old centre do any work around the house.
‘To be honest, Bradman always tries to help. I don’t let him,’ she told News Corp.
‘I learnt from my mum [Jeff’s wife Suzee] that it’s kind of a woman’s job to keep the house intact.
Kayla Fenech and Bradman Best (pictured together) are one of the NRL’s most high-profile couples – and now she has revealed her very non-politically correct stance on who does the housework in their relationship
Fenech says her mum taught her that ‘it’s a woman’s job to keep the house intact’
‘But he always tries to help me do the dishes but I don’t really let him lift a finger in the house because I don’t feel like it’s his job to do that.
‘He is always so busy with footy and when he gets home, he is tired so I would never expect him to do anything.’
Fenech goes on to say that her man is ‘actually a really good cook’ whose specialty is ‘a really good salmon’ – and that ‘it’s very hard to be around him’ when his team loses.
‘He is usually very upset,’ she explained.
‘But you just need to be there for him because it has a very big effect on his life away from the game.
‘It’s s*** to be around when he’s suffering like that.’
Kayla also revealed that she ignored Best ‘for a few weeks’ when he messaged her on Instagram ‘because I didn’t know who he was’, and they ‘just clicked’ when they spent a weekend in the Hunter Valley.
She also said her favourite part of watching him play is the way he gives her a kiss at the end of every game.
Last year, Jeff Fenech explained why he was shocked at Kayla’s choice of partner to begin with.
‘I’d always warned my girls about going out with league players,’ he said.
Kayla’s boxing legend dad Jeff (pictured together) was furious when he first found out about her dating Best – but quickly changed his mind
Kayla also revealed her Knights star boyfriend is ‘s*** to be around’ after a loss
‘I’ve been knocking around with footballers all my life. They’re young and they love going out and having a good time.
‘So when she rang and told me, I went off the deep end. I gave her a roasting. She kept trying to say, “Dad, he’s a lovely guy.” Kayla was telling me every day how nice he was.
‘Bradman knew I was angry, but he told Kayla, “I’ll prove your dad wrong” – and he has.
‘When we first met, you could tell he was a good young man. He’s treating Kayla beautifully. Like a gentleman. They’re very happy. And so is my wife Suzee and I.’
Best went from strength to strength during the 2024 season, stamping himself as one of the best players in the competition as he helped Newcastle break into the top eight and put in a star turn for NSW in the State of Origin series.
His try in the second half of game three – which saw him fend off two Queenslanders to cross in the corner – broke the match open for the Blues and proved a huge turning point as they snatched an underdog series win.
Best signed a three-year extension with the Knights in February last year, tying him to the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.
