Synopsis
Fencing work near the Bangladesh border in Malda remains suspended due to disputes between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and India’s Border Security Force (BSF). Efforts to resolve the issue may be addressed in upcoming DG-level talks. Previous construction was carried out with mutual consent, but recent objections from Bangladesh have halted progress since November 2024.
