Bishops of the Church: There is no truth to what is being circulated about division and our submission to the Pope

After a list of the names of some bishops was circulated on social media sites in which they objected to the names of some of the speakers in the council’s seminar The Holy Fathers, led by Bishop Raphael, General Bishop of the Central Cairo Church Division, and Bishop David, Bishop of New York and New England in America, whose names were on the list, issued an explanatory statement about what was being circulated, and the text of the statement came as follows:
“There is a list of names of bishop fathers circulating on social media sites, who submitted a memorandum objecting to the names of some of the speakers at the Holy Synod seminar next month, and we would all like to make it clear that we have all the love and respect for our father, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. as We have no knowledge of the source of this list, and what is the purpose behind publishing it on social media sites. Also, if there are any comments on any of the speakers in the seminar, we send them directly to His Holiness the Pope, or through the council’s secretariat, and we do not use social media sites in this way. Bishop Raphael added: We have legitimate channels in our Holy Synod to express our opinions, and His Holiness the Pope is always interested in hearing the opinions and observations of the bishop fathers, and we are all confident in the wisdom of His Holiness the Pope in managing matters. This is a message from the fathers whose names are mentioned in the memorandum.
