We’re not even 10 days into the new year and already it seems like love is dead, with reports that Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber have split up.
That’s right, it seems that the couple has called it quits after three years of being Hollywood’s most aesthetically pleasing pair.
According to the ever-reliable TMZ, sources close to the duo revealed that they ended things around the end of 2024.
Now, before you start clutching your pearls, let’s clarify: there’s no drama here. The publication’s source explained that it was just a classic case of “we’ve run our course”, (not Kaia being sick of Austin’s Elvis accent like I know you were all thinking).
Austin was notably absent from Kaia’s recent family trip to Mexico — because nothing says “we’re still together” quite like skipping out on a sunny vacay with the in-laws.
Rumours about Austin and Kaia dating kicked off back in December 2021 when they were spotted at a yoga class and I can’t with how LA that is.
They made their red carpet debut at W Magazine‘s Best Performances party in March 2022, and from there, it was all kisses at award shows and cute as fuck couple outings. Their date nights included the Met Gala, red carpets and even visits to children’s hospitals.
However, as we entered 2025, whispers of trouble began to surface. The couple had been increasingly spotted apart, with Kaia enjoying Disneyland without her beau on her birthday.
Despite all this, sources had insisted that everything was fine between them until it wasn’t. A source even told Deuxmoi that Austin said that they were “very much together” as recent as November. Classic case of denial or just wishful thinking? You decide.
Neither Kaia nor Austin have commented on the reports. If this news does pan out then it finally proves that pretty people can have problems too, they really are just like us!!
