Aussies go wild for mystery menu item at Domino’s that can be accessed via a secret code: ‘Seriously underrated’

Domino’s Australia has delighted fans with the launch of a new dessert item – but the ‘secret’ treat can only be accessed with a code.

The $11 Lava Cake is an exclusive, limited-time menu item and can be found on the pizza chain’s app.

The decadent dessert is stuffed with molten chocolate sauce and can be paired with and dunked in one of the new thickshakes ($8) for what foodies have dubbed the ‘lava cake shake’.

The new thickshakes include flavours malt, vanilla, salted caramel and cookies and cream.

To unlock the secret indulgence, all you have to do is select ‘Pick Up’, choose your store and order time and enter ‘Secret’ as a voucher code.

The item then appears and can be customised to suit your taste.

In 2024 alone, Aussies devoured almost 200 tonnes worth of lava cakes, so it’s no surprise that social media users are losing their minds over the sweet hack.

‘This lava cake is so underrated, for real,’ one raved.

‘Wow so decadent. Didn’t realise this was Domino’s,’ another added.

Social media foodie, Annie’s Bucket List, tried the trick for herself this week and raved about the oozey sweet.

‘I highly recommend getting the lava cake with one of their new shakes and then drizzling the sauce on top or crumbling the cake into the shake to make your own shake,’ she gushed.

The store has recommended snapping one of the popular treats up sooner rather than later, ‘just in case’.

‘This hidden gooey gem could be gone as quickly as it appeared,’ they warned.
