Today, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated a number of educational and health projects at Sohag University, accompanied by Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, and a group of university leaders, deans of colleges, and faculty members.

The Minister began his visit by opening the College of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, which is being built on an area of ​​5,000 square meters, with a construction cost of $600. One million pounds. The building consists of a basement, ground floor, and 4 upper floors. The college includes 3 auditoriums with a capacity of 500 male and female students, 4 classrooms with a capacity of 200 male and female students, and 38 laboratories with a capacity of 760 male and female students.

Dr. Ayman Ashour opened the college. The pharmacy, which is built on an area of ​​6,000 square metres, at a construction cost of 200 million pounds, and the college includes 6 amphitheaters with a capacity 700 male and female students, 10 classrooms with a capacity of 100 male and female students, and 46 laboratories.

Dr. Ayman Ashour also opened the College of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, which is built on an area of ​​1,000 square meters, with a construction cost of 310 million pounds, and the college consists of a basement. It has a ground floor, 4 repeated floors, and includes 3 auditoriums with a capacity of 1,050 male and female students.

The Minister opened the testing center. The electronic center, which is being built on an area of ​​4,000 square meters, has a construction cost of 520 million pounds. The center consists of a basement, ground floor, and 4 floors, and includes 48 halls for electronic tests, with a capacity of 5,000 male and female students. The Minister also opened units at Al-Tawari Hospital, where the therapeutic catheterization unit was opened at a cost of 43 million pounds, the head injury care unit at a cost of 5 million pounds, the chest disease care unit at a cost of 5 million pounds, and the gastrointestinal endoscopy unit at a cost of 4 million pounds.

< p>The Minister laid the foundation stone for the Burns Hospital, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, issued a decision to allocate 10,000 square meters to establish a hospital specialized in treating burns. As a continuation of the treatment system at Sohag University Hospitals, the hospital is located next to the Emergency and Trauma Hospital in New Sohag City. It is considered the first burns hospital of its kind in Upper Egypt. The hospital will include 30 intensive care beds, 70 beds for patient accommodation, an emergency department, an examination unit, a burn spare parts department, and a burn unit. For physical therapy, operating rooms, a special laboratory section, in addition to a blood bank, administrative departments, and a hall for meetings and conferences. Scientific, pharmacy, laundry and sterilization rooms.

The minister inspected the Sohag National University building, which costs 320 million pounds, and is built on an area of ​​5,000 square meters. The building consists of a basement, ground floor, and 4 recurring floors, and the university will include 119 teaching halls. With a capacity of 30 male and female students, and 3 classrooms with a capacity of 500 students each.

The Minister also inspected the educational building at the university hospital, which contains 10 Classrooms, with a total of 400 chairs for lectures, 10 study halls and two auditoriums for lectures with a capacity of 300 students and 220 students.

The Minister inspected the Shifa Children’s Hospital, which is considered a gift by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the children of Upper Egypt. The hospital is built on an area of ​​5.6 acres, and consists of It consists of a basement, ground floor and second floor, and includes 263 beds, 122 rooms for patients’ accommodation, 17 outpatient clinics, and 3 rooms. Endoscopy, and 5 operating rooms. It also includes dialysis units, a nursery for premature babies, an oncology unit, x-ray rooms, isolation rooms, therapeutic gyms, 13 doctors’ residence rooms, a meeting room, 13 electric elevators, 2 escalators, and a central sterilization unit. At a total cost exceeding one billion and 128 million pounds.

The Minister also inspected the International Games Hall, which costs one billion pounds, and will be built on an area of ​​26 thousand square meters. It can accommodate 5,000 spectators and includes 25 different sports games. It includes a main hall, sub-game halls, attached games halls, a VIP hall, a sports conference hall, halls for various martial arts, gym halls, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a room for commentary and television broadcasting, and warm-up courts. , rooms for players and technical equipment, a room for the organizing committee, a health club, a conference hall, and a media center.

Also inspect The Minister visited the Center for Service for Students with Disabilities, which the university’s contribution to establishing amounted to 1.5 million pounds, and it contains 6 halls and 37 computers.

Dr. Ayman Ashour inspected the Digital Egypt Creativity Center, where he inspected the center’s laboratories and halls, and the Minister also listened To a detailed explanation of the activities and programs offered by the center.

In a related context, the Minister of Higher Education and university presidents participated in planting and planting 60 fruit trees in the name of Egyptian universities, the most important of which was planting a tree in the name of the Ministry of Higher Education. The Supreme Council of Universities, the Council of Private Universities, the Council of Private Universities and Egyptian Universities, within the framework of implementing the presidential initiative “Prepare for Green… Prepare for the Future,” to plant 100 million trees. The initiative aims to spread environmental awareness in Egypt, as one of the tools for adapting to negative impacts. to climate change, and spreading the culture of green transformation, in line with the Egyptian state’s efforts to shift towards a green economy.

For his part, Dr. Ayman Ashour praised the development work that Sohag University is witnessing it in various medical and educational sectors. The Minister stressed that the Ministry pays great attention to developing medical services. and health care in university hospitals; As one of the basic pillars in providing health services to citizens alongside the Ministry of Health hospitals, in addition to its educational, training and research role in preparing highly qualified doctors, he praised the great development that these hospitals have witnessed thanks to the unprecedented support provided by the political leadership, pointing out that university hospitals enjoy the confidence of Citizens due to the distinguished health services they provide, stressing the Egyptian state’s keenness to provide continuous support to universities. To carry out its scientific, educational, research and societal role as desired.

For his part, Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani stressed that the higher education system has witnessed unprecedented development in light of the interest, support and continuous follow-up of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and the great efforts made by The Ministry of Higher Education, which led to a major development in the system of higher education and scientific research.

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani indicated that Sohag University has made great strides in the field of development. The official spokesman added that the number of university hospitals has reached 125, and receives about 25 million patients annually, pointing to the interest in providing hospitals with the latest medical equipment and developing capabilities.
