The Minister began his visit by opening the College of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, which is being built on an area of 5,000 square meters, with a construction cost of $600. Dr. Ayman Ashour also opened the College of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, which is built on an area of 1,000 square meters, with a construction cost of 310 million pounds, and the college consists of a basement. It has a ground floor, 4 repeated floors, and includes 3 auditoriums with a capacity of 1,050 male and female students.
The Minister opened the testing center. The electronic center, which is being built on an area of 4,000 square meters, has a construction cost of 520 million pounds. The Minister also opened units at Al-Tawari Hospital, where the therapeutic catheterization unit was opened at a cost of 43 million pounds, the head injury care unit at a cost of 5 million pounds, the chest disease care unit at a cost of 5 million pounds, and the gastrointestinal endoscopy unit at a cost of 4 million pounds.
< p>The Minister laid the foundation stone for the Burns Hospital, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, issued a decision to allocate 10,000 square meters to establish a hospital specialized in treating burns. As a continuation of the treatment system at Sohag University Hospitals, the hospital is located next to the Emergency and Trauma Hospital in New Sohag City. It is considered the first burns hospital of its kind in Upper Egypt. The hospital will include 30 intensive care beds, 70 beds for patient accommodation, an emergency department, an examination unit, a burn spare parts department, and a burn unit. For physical therapy, operating rooms, a special laboratory section, in addition to a blood bank, administrative departments, and a hall for meetings and conferences. Scientific, pharmacy, laundry and sterilization rooms.
The minister inspected the Sohag National University building, which costs 320 million pounds, and is built on an area of 5,000 square meters. The building consists of a basement, ground floor, and 4 recurring floors, and the university will include 119 teaching halls. With a capacity of 30 male and female students, and 3 classrooms with a capacity of 500 students each.
The Minister also inspected the educational building at the university hospital, which contains 10 Classrooms, with a total of 400 chairs for lectures, 10 study halls and two auditoriums for lectures with a capacity of 300 students and 220 students.
The Minister inspected the Shifa Children’s Hospital, which is considered a gift by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to the children of Upper Egypt. The hospital is built on an area of 5.6 acres, and consists of It consists of a basement, ground floor and second floor, and includes 263 beds, 122 rooms for patients’ accommodation, 17 outpatient clinics, and 3 rooms. In a related context, the Minister of Higher Education and university presidents participated in planting and planting 60 fruit trees in the name of Egyptian universities, the most important of which was planting a tree in the name of the Ministry of Higher Education.
