Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Cairo University and the “Ovarian Cancer Cell Laboratory.” The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of Cairo University, Dr. Ahmed Ahmed, representative of the University of Oxford, Mr. Kevin Kyle, CEO of Germfree, and Mr. Boro Droblik, at the University of Oxford, Germfree, and Caring Cross Health Foundation.

The President of Cairo University explained that the memorandum of understanding aims to Enhancing cooperation between the signatory parties in accelerating clinical research and development, and designing and building manufacturing facilities and approving innovative treatments such as CAR-T cells and other advanced cell therapies.
The memorandum of understanding includes Cairo University equipping CAR-T cell manufacturing facilities, And establishing a facility for manufacturing vector viruses, in addition to training and employing the necessary scientific personnel, conducting clinical trials, and developing research in cooperation with the Caring Cross Foundation.
The role of the University of Oxford also includes providing oversight and supervisory support for activities. Cooperation, and enhancing research cooperation between Cairo University and the Caring Cross Foundation to develop new treatments for solid tumors.
