Arsenal are ‘keen on signing a former Everton flop’ as the Gunners step up their striker search ahead of the summer transfer window

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on a former Everton striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have failed to add a No9 to their ranks in recent windows, with many fans believing this has cost the club their chance of winning the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta is expected to finally dip into the transfer market for a new striker this summer, and one potential target appears to have already been identified.

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal are interested in signing Fiorentina forward Moise Kean.

Kean, 25, has previous Premier League experience after joining Everton in 2019. However, his only campaign in England saw him score just four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees.

He subsequently struggled to kick on at PSG and Juventus, but he has found form at Fiorentina this season.

After joining the club for just under £11m last summer, Kean has scored 18 goals in 32 outings in 2024-25.

He is second on the Serie A top scorer list with 15 goals this term, behind only Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui (22).

Kean has a €52m (£44m) release clause in his contract that is valid throughout the month of July.

Arsenal could be willing to match this figure and try to fix their problems up front early on in the window.

But they are not the only Premier League club closely monitoring Kean.

Newcastle and West Ham are also reportedly weighing up a potential move, while Tottenham have been linked with the Italian striker.

Newcastle are expected to resist any offers for Alexander Isak this summer, but could turn to Kean if the Swedish talisman does move on.

Meanwhile, West Ham have struggled for goals under Graham Potter, and Spurs striker Dominic Solanke has missed large chunks of the current season due to injury.
