Armie Hammer branded ‘ignorant’ after describing women as the ‘worst’ and saying gay men ‘have it easy’

Armie Hammer has been branded ‘incredibly ignorant’ after he opened up about his ‘hilarious’ brief experimentation with a same-sex romance – with many begging him to stop talking.

The actor, 38, spoke candidly about his brief trysts with other men on the latest episode of his HammerTime podcast, in which he also described women as ‘the worst’ and said, ‘gay dudes seem to have it so easy.’

‘I tried hooking up with a dude one time and it was hilarious because I was like you know what, women are the worst, gay dudes seem to have it so easy,’ he said.

He went on to reveal that he was on Grindr at one point, adding: ‘I’m at a restaurant my phone blows up and it’s Grindr and someone else is like “I’m at the same restaurant do you want a b*****b in the bathroom?” and you’re like “hey guys I’ll be back in five minutes.”

‘You get up and you go to the bathroom you get a b*****b, you come back and you’re like “what was that?” I don’t know some guy just sucked my d***.

‘It’s like “who?” And it’s like “oh I don’t know I didn’t get his name. Anyway what did you order?”‘

Hammer continued: ‘I was like you know what, I’m gonna give this a try yeah like maybe this actually works for me.

‘I remember I met this dude, handsome French – you know the whole thing – I was like okay this could work, this could work let’s try this.’ 

‘I remember I started making out with them and I just remember being like God beards, like women like it when you shave. This thing is f***ing rough like how do I get in there?’ he recalled.

‘I remember I put my arms around him, and I was like oh my God and these shoulders are so wide he’s so big like he’s almost my height, like this is so strange and it did physically for absolutely nothing. Nothing, like didn’t like not even a twitch.

‘I was just like okay and then I remember we were making out and it was kind of like getting hotter and heavier.

‘But I was going through the motions like not feeling anything and then he reached for my d*** and I was like you’re not going to touch my flacid p***s, like this is not going to happen I’m sorry.’

Hammer didn’t specify when this encounter happened.

Unsurprisingly, his comments didn’t sit well with social media users, with many pleading with him to stop talking.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one asked: ‘Why are people still speaking to this vulture?’

‘He needs to not talk… like… never… never… ever.,’ added another.

A third said: ‘It is extraordinary, everything that comes out of his mouth is pure garbage.’

‘He’s incredibly ignorant. Go away!!!’ added a fourth.

A fifth continued: ‘Is there a way to stop learning new things about Armie Hammer? I’m all set.’

During the chat Druz said that when she first moved to Los Angeles from New York City, just to ‘get a baseline,’ she told everyone that she was a lesbian.

The experiment didn’t last too long for Druz, with Hammer then opening up.

Hammer shares two children, daughter Harper and son Ford, with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, and they have been co-parenting since their 2020 split.

Their divorce was finalized in 2023.

Last year, Chambers explained that she was ‘fiercely protecting’ her kids amid the headlines her husband was making. 

‘Things are fabulous,’ she said. ‘My sister said it best. She said, ‘Every single day somebody just taps you on the shoulder, reminding you of the most painful time of your life.”

‘But also, I am fiercely protecting my children, which is why we’re still here, and they have, thank God, no idea about what is going on.’

‘My children are blissfully happy. They should think that their dad is a superhero, and to be fair, he has been to them. He’s been the best he can be,’ she added.

In a separate confessional during the episode, Chambers said of Hammer: ‘I don’t speak negatively about him in the press.’

‘I don’t speak negatively about him to my children, because nobody wants a daughter with daddy issues and nobody wants a son with daddy issues. They should think their dad is a superhero.’

During the divorce proceedings, the former couple agreed to shared custody of their two children.
