The Department of Media at the University of East London began the first academic year with an innovative educational curriculum that focuses heavily on practical production. This approach aims to enhance students’ practical skills and prepare them for the requirements of the labor market. Within the framework of this approach, the university organized a special event to judge film projects prepared by students of the Foundation Year in the Department of Media and Film. The event witnessed the participation of a group of prominent figures in the artistic and media field, including producer and screenwriter Mohamed Al-Adl, the great director Magdy Abu Amira, the screenwriter and poet. Singer Muhammad Al-Hanawi, under the supervision of the distinguished director Sameh Al-Shawadi, where the students presented four film projects produced, directed and acted by them, which gave them an exceptional opportunity to present their works before an expert jury. The event aims to enhance students’ practical skills, increase their interaction with professional experiences, and encourage them to innovate in their fields, as this event is part of a series of activities organized by the university to support students, with the support of the university administration, headed by Dr. Mahmoud Hashem Abdel Qader, founder and Chairman of the University Board of Trustees.
