Anne Hathaway is getting ready for her third team-up with Christopher Nolan in the new year.
After working together on The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Interstellar (2014), the Oscar-winning actress recently expressed her excitement to join the star-studded cast of Nolan’s upcoming film.
“I have so many feelings about it that I don’t even know how to articulate,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “It fills me with so much joy … I love Chris and Emma Nolan so much, and to be invited into their world [is] one of the best places you can find yourself.”
Hathaway added, “Getting to be invited twice really felt like something, three felt like it would’ve been greedy, so I never let myself hope that that would happen, and that it has makes me emotional, to be perfectly honest. It makes me feel like I’m doing something right.”
In March, Hathaway called Nolan an “angel” and credited him with “one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of,” referring to her casting in Interstellar as NASA scientist and astronaut Dr. Amelia Brand at a time when she faced vitriol that affected her career.
“I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect,” Hathaway told Vanity Fair in March. “And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”
Last month, Deadline reported that Hathaway and Zendaya were cast in Nolan’s new event film, which has also announced cast members Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon and Tom Holland.
The film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026. The date falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.
The movie is expected to start shooting in early 2025, but sources note that loglines or descriptions of the film that have been published to date are wrong, and details are being kept under wraps.
