Ange Postecolgou confronts fuming Tottenham fans after Bournemouth defeat as he’s met by jeers from the away end – with Spurs slipping further down the table on the back of latest loss

Tottenham fans were left fuming at full time of their defeat by Bournemouth as manager Ange Postecoglou confronted the away end at the Vitality Stadium.

Footage filmed from the away end showed fans voicing their displeasure at the performance, with a steward encouraging Postecoglou not to confront the frustrated supporters.

He did nonetheless, pointing to himself and seeming to signal to one fan to calm down.

That didn’t do much to help the supporters’ frustrations, with fans continuing to jeer in the Australian’s direction and some even appearing to hurl abuse in his direction.

It cam after Tottenham had slipped to 10th in the Premier League on the back of their latest defeat, going down 1-0 in what was their sixth loss of the campaign after 14 matches.

The majority of players had already left the field by the time Postecoglou had arrived at the away end, where he was met by loud jeers.

He appeared to try and speak to one fan in the front row, nodding his head and seemingly gesturing for them to calm down with their reaction.

The 59-year-old proceeded to continuously point to himself, seemingly puzzled by the reaction that arrived his way from a fanbase that often sing his name in the stands.

Speaking after the game, though, he was calm, and explained what happened from his point of view. 

‘I wasn’t having a word,’ Postecoglou told Amazon Prime Video after the game. ‘They are pretty disappointed and rightfully so.

‘I got some pretty direct feedback and it’s fair enough.’

‘We’ve got tot get ourselves out of this space we are in at the moment where we are unable to get a real grip on our season. We’ll have to refocus for Sunday.’
