An informed source: The Cairo meeting ended with agreement on all the necessary arrangements to implement the ceasefire in Gaza

An informed Egyptian source announced, today, Friday, the end of the Cairo meeting, which was devoted to discussing the mechanisms for implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and exchanging the release of detainees held by both Israel and the Hamas movement.

 

He pointed out that the chamber includes representatives from Egypt, Palestine, Qatar, America, and Israel, to ensure effective coordination and follow up on compliance with the terms of the agreement.

 

 

The informed Egyptian source added, “The meeting witnessed a positive atmosphere and consensus among all parties, and all necessary arrangements were agreed upon to implement the agreement, including the formation of a chamber.” Joint operations in Cairo to follow up on the implementation of the measures,” according to the “Cairo News” channel.

 

Last Wednesday evening, the three mediators, Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, announced that they had reached a truce agreement in Gaza Strip, starting next Sunday, January 19.

 

 

The concluded agreement allows for the exchange of prisoners and a return to sustainable calm. In order to achieve a permanent ceasefire between the two parties, it includes three phases. The first phase, which lasts 42 days, includes a ceasefire, the withdrawal and repositioning of Israeli forces outside densely populated areas, the exchange of prisoners and detainees, the exchange of the remains of the deceased, and the return of internally displaced persons to their places of residence in the Gaza Strip. Gaza, and facilitating the departure of the sick and wounded to receive treatment. The first phase also includes intensifying the introduction and safe and effective distribution of humanitarian aid on a large scale throughout the Gaza Strip, the rehabilitation of hospitals, health centers and bakeries, the introduction of civil defense supplies and fuel, and the introduction of shelter supplies for displaced people who lost their homes due to the war.
