Misconceptions and fabricated videos exploit current events to direct public opinion towards their subversive goals. These groups also rely on broadcasting messages containing inflammatory phrases and targeting the most affected groups, especially young people, to try to attract them to adopt their extremist ideas.
The information security expert stressed that confronting this deception begins with enhancing societal awareness among individuals, especially young people, of the importance of verifying sources of information and not being led by exciting or unreliable content. Stressing the importance of the role of government and private institutions in spreading digital awareness and developing techniques to detect fake accounts and misleading content.
