An expanded meeting with representatives of the Industrial Development Authority to discuss the sector’s problems and propose the necessary solutions

The Electrical Appliances Industry Division, headed by Eng. Bahaa El-Adly, held an extended meeting with Eng. Hazem Anan, Vice President of the Industrial Development Authority, and Eng. Alaa Salah El-Din, Advisor to the Chairman of the Authority for Local Manufacturing and Technical Affairs, in order to discuss the current challenges facing the electrical appliances industry sector in Egypt, and to propose the necessary solutions, in the presence of Mohamed El-Mohandes, Head of the Engineering Industries Chamber.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mohamed El-Mohandes, Head of the Engineering Industries Chamber, welcomed the representatives of the Industrial Development Authority, stressing the importance of close cooperation between industrial sector investors and the Authority, which is of great importance to us as an industrial sector.

He addressed his speech by saying: We appreciate your efforts and support your pivotal role in supporting and developing the industrial sector in Egypt, and we are keen on continuous coordination. To find appropriate solutions to the problems facing us as factories.

 Engineer Bahaa El-Adly, Head of the Electrical Appliances Division at the Federation of Industries, praised the quick response of the Authority’s representatives to the Division’s invitation to attend the meeting and listen to the problems of companies operating in the sector, noting that the Division includes 1477 factories distributed over five sectors: lighting, electrical appliances, panels, cables, and electricity production.

He explained that the main objective of the meeting is to list and review the problems facing the sector before the Authority’s representatives with the aim of reaching urgent and quick solutions to them, which will achieve a major leap in the electrical appliances manufacturing sector.

El-Adly stressed the existence of several important objectives that must be focused on through cooperation with the Industrial Development Authority, including working to deepen local industry, increase exports, and open internal communication channels, in addition to monitoring problems and presenting all available opportunities in the sector and maximizing their benefit at the present time.

He pointed to coordination with the Industrial Development Authority in order to organize various sectoral meetings to address each problem and present direct solutions to it to develop the sector and increase production And export.

Engineer Hazem Anan, Vice Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority, said during the meeting that the engineering industries sector, including electrical appliances, is one of the important and influential productive sectors in the local market.

He stressed the Authority’s commitment to supporting the Egyptian industrial sector and providing an attractive environment for investment, explaining that it is working with all its efforts to remove any obstacles that factories may face, and is also focusing on facilitating procedures, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian industry in local and global markets.

He continued by saying: We work closely with the private sector to identify their needs and aspirations, and develop appropriate solutions to the challenges they face, noting that our meeting with you today is evidence of this continuous and effective cooperation.

Anan referred to the cooperation with ministries and government agencies responsible for industrial sectors to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the growth of local industry through the ministerial committee headed by Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, who issued his directives to quickly solve any problems as well as solve the problems of troubled factories.

For his part, Eng. Mohamed Samir, a member of the division, stressed the importance of the Industrial Development Authority’s support for local factories, stressing the need to limit imports of some items that are produced locally, especially those coming from China.

Engineer Mohamed Shabana, a member of the Electrical Appliances Division, pointed out the need for the Authority to support and assist factories in confronting the phenomenon of counterfeiting trademarks by the informal informal economy, saying that commercial fraud and counterfeiting harm competition and affect factories operating legally.

Engineer Hassan Abu Al-Atta, a member of the division, stressed the importance of expediting the issuance of licenses, especially since his factory has not obtained the required licenses and industrial registry for about 8 months.

Engineer Mohamed Al-Adly, a member of the division, called for the Authority’s intervention to help solve the problem of fluctuating and unstable electricity current in Badr City, especially since this problem causes damage to some devices and disrupts the work of factories in the city.

Engineer Ahmed Shawky, a member of the division, stressed the importance of solving some problems related to civil protection and the high prices of follow-up fees, in addition to some requirements that must be reconsidered.
