The Al-Qassam Brigades announced the launch of a barrage of rockets from the Gaza Strip towards the Israeli cities of Gan Yavneh and Ashdod as an initial response to what it called the “massacres against our people and resistance leaders.”
Dozens of Palestinians were killed and hundreds were injured from Saturday night until Sunday morning, as a result of a series of scattered raids launched by Israeli army aircraft and heavy artillery on various areas of the Gaza Strip.
One of the raids targeted the tents of the displaced inside the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the Deir al-Balah camp in central Gaza, which led to them burning and killing at least five people and injuring sixteen others inside.
Eight Palestinians were killed and others were injured, including children, when Israeli aircraft bombed a house in the Al-Fakhoura area, northwest of Jabalia camp, in the northern Gaza Strip. They were transferred to the Martyr Kamal Adwan Hospital in the neighboring town of Beit Lahia.
The ministry said it had counted “33 martyrs… during the past 24 hours” until Sunday morning among those transferred to hospitals. It noted that the total number of wounded “has reached 91,398 since October 7.”
According to the BBC correspondent specializing in Palestinian affairs in Gaza, three citizens were killed and others were injured when Israeli aircraft bombed the home of the Al-Hasanat family in the Deir al-Balah camp, west of the city.
Air strikes targeted the Al-Hasayna area west of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling targeting the vicinity of the electricity company and the Malaysian school north of the camp.
Israeli vehicles opened heavy fire on areas east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army artillery shelled the east of the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, while its military vehicles opened fire on the area.
Israeli aircraft carried out raids on the Saudi neighborhood west of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip, coinciding with military vehicles opening fire in the vicinity of the Rafah crossing.
