Al-Nasr Floating Bridge…one of the most important projects to connect the two banks of the Suez Canal in Port Said…pictures

Over the course of more than 10 years, Port Said Governorate witnessed dozens of infrastructure projects that changed life in all service and investment fields, including the Al-Nasr Floating Bridge, which connects the two banks of the Suez Canal.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inaugurated the Al-Nasr Floating Bridge, which is the first floating bridge in Egypt after the crossing bridge between the two banks of the canal, which the Egyptian army soldiers crossed in the Victory War in 1973. It is President Al-Sisi’s gift to the people of Port Said Governorate, which was completely implemented by Egyptian hands 100 %, as it was constructed by the Suez Canal Maritime Authority under international supervision.

The “Al-Nasr Floating Bridge” is located over the waters of the Suez Canal’s navigational stream, and connects the cities of “Port Said and Port Fouad” from the side of Al-Raswa. It was chosen by the Engineering Department of the Suez Canal Authority, as it is the most appropriate place to establish a bridge due to its distance from the authority’s facilities and its proximity to the entrance to Port Said, where it is located at kilometer 4. At the southern entrance to Port Said.

The “Al-Nasr Floating Bridge” is one of the largest service projects and an embodiment of the societal role played by the Suez Canal Maritime Authority, as it aims to alleviate the suffering of citizens while fully accommodating the movement of containers. It serves the people of Port Said by reducing the burden on the ferry facility and the crowding in it at peak times. In addition to their service to the eastern projects, they transfer those coming from the “30 June” tunnel in the south of the governorate via the bridge to the city of Port Fouad in a faster time than ferries.

Work on the “Al-Nasr Floating Bridge” began in April 2016 and its implementation took 8 full months. Port Said Shipyard, Port Tawfiq Shipyard, the Port Said Engineering Works and Marine Construction Company, Al-Temsah Shipbuilding, and the Suez Marine Shipyard participated in its construction.
