Al-Azhar Undersecretary: The nation must be aware of its first issue

Dr. Mohamed El-Duwini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, said that empowering youth is not a shiny term that is about to lose its luster, but rather it is a fundamental principle and a fundamental pillar that Islam called for, and the Messenger of Islam, may God bless him and grant him peace, practiced, and the nation lived on during its times of leadership, stressing that we are able, God willing – if we realize our position and understand the reasons for empowerment and its tools – to restore our glories and fulfill our duty towards our Creator, our nation and people.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar explained, during his speech today at the Indonesian Students Forum in the Middle East and Africa, which is held under the title “Empowering Individuals and the Future of Homelands”, that empowerment revolves around increasing the spiritual, political, social and economic capacity of individuals and societies, and giving individuals and societies more opportunities to make choices that can be transformed into actions and results, noting that empowerment is not just a buzzword that is said and grabs the ears, but rather it is a rational way of life Fair, does not favor or flatter, whoever exerts the means of empowerment and has his sights on the future deserves glory and elevation.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar added that this fair empowerment calls upon the sons of the nation to own the means of the world, and to put them in their hands, managing them in a way that enables them to carry out the duty of succession, stressing that we are commanded to take with us on our journey in life, religious values and civilized morals, the need for which is confirmed in light of this bitter reality that views religion as a problem or part of the problem, so it was replaced by foolish freedom that led to chaos, disbelief, atheism, homosexuality, excessive materialism, and greedy consumption.

Dr. Al-Duwaini stressed that the necessary duty now is for the nation to realize that empowerment has its reasons, and it must be aware of its primary issue, and not be preoccupied with what its enemies want to preoccupy it with, so do not delay what should be presented, or advance what should be delayed, for the Lord of the Worlds has brought us out to the people: We enjoin what is rightWe forbid evil: belief, worship, work, politics, economy, society and culture, and all this with faith in God, stressing that what the nation is going through now in terms of weakness should be a reason for awakening, enthusiasm and work, not sitting and laziness, indicating that caring for the youth is one of the manifestations of civilization and advancement among nations that prepare for them what makes them capable and strong men on whose arms the homelands are built. Dr. Al-Duwaini stressed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is a divine gift bestowed by God upon the nation, to carry the banner of the Islamic call, and adopt moderation as a path and approach, neither excess nor neglect, nor exaggeration nor leniency, forming a strong fortress and an impregnable barrier against extremist calls and destructive approaches, stressing that this institution will remain resistant and defending the true Islam as long as night and day remain without weakness or indolence, adding that Al-Azhar has remained throughout its history. and still is. It opens its doors to those thirsty for knowledge and learning from scholars and students from inside and outside Egypt without discrimination or exclusion; it is the scientific destination for all Muslims in the East and West of the earth, and the unique model from other universities throughout the ages with the universality of its message that is based on a comprehensive approach that includes, alongside Islamic and Arabic sciences, rational and applied sciences.

At the end of his speech, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar recommended that the Indonesian students be the best ambassadors for Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, telling them, “You are the sons of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and in its heart. If you return to your homelands, remember that the message of knowledge does not stop, and that the doors of Al-Azhar are open to you and your children forever, so convey the message that you have been entrusted with to your countries and homelands,” stressing that the youth are the wealth of the nation that it is proud of, and its balance that it saves for its future, and its strength on which it builds its glory, and its hope that is always desired.
