Al-Azhar Mosque holds its weekly meeting "Moral construction and its impact on societal stability"
Al-Azhar Forum for Contemporary Issues held its weekly meeting under the title “Moral Building and its Impact on Societal Stability.” Dr. Abdullah Azab, former Dean of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Cairo, and Dr. Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, former head of the Department of Islamic Call and Culture at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion, and Dr. Hani Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque.
Dr. Magdy Abdel Ghaffar explained that the moral structure is one of the most important issues that we should address; Society is saved by reform, and reform of society is an indication of its salvation from destruction. God Almighty said: “By the age, * indeed, mankind is in loss, * except those who believe and do righteous deeds and hold each other to truth and each other to patience The blessing of communication between the pillars of society is the first building block for building a society in which praiseworthy qualities are diverse. It is considered a structure for society, while reprehensible qualities are considered to be the destruction of this structure. The more praiseworthy qualities expand, the more reprehensible the structure expands, and the more reprehensible behaviors are the cause of its destruction.
He pointed out that the moral and behavioral aspect is what he was sent for. The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said in his hadith, “I was sent only to perfect good morals.” He is the pinnacle of morals, and he, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was famous for his good character before and after the mission. Before his mission, he was called the Truthful and Trustworthy. He recommended, throughout his life, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to have good character. He said, “The most beloved of you to me and the closest to me in assembly on the Day of Resurrection are the best of you in character. Good character will bring us closer to his assembly, may God bless him and grant him peace, on the Day of Resurrection.” The highest paradise.
He added: Honesty is a cornerstone of the stability of society. How many societies have been destroyed by lies, deception, betrayal and desecration. Societies are built based on their honesty and trustworthiness. If trusts are found in… Societies have a healthy and strong structure, and if they are not there, the structure is destroyed, and all members of society must have good morals. There is nothing good in a servant who is well groomed, has a good voice when reciting the Qur’an, prostrates for a long time in prayers, and has bad morals. A person is only established by good morals and behavior after sound faith and soundness. worship; What is the benefit of prayers and worship if there is no sincerity? Prayers and acts of worship included morals. In prayer, God Almighty said, “Indeed, prayer forbids indecency and evil,” and in zakat, God Almighty said, “Take from their wealth alms, to purify them and purify them thereby.” And in fasting, God Almighty said “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you, that you may become righteous.” And in Hajj, he said ﴿ The Hajj is one of the well-known months. So whoever makes the Hajj obligatory during it, there shall be no obscenity, no immorality, and no quarreling during the Hajj. ﴾ So the acts of worship included good qualities and good morals. Whoever is not sincere in his acts of worship, it will not be accepted from him, and rituals have been established To change the paths, and if the rituals change the paths, proverbs will be found in the nation Al-Shafi’i and Malik, and if it is not changed, the nation will lose its capitals and kingdoms.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Azab emphasized that the heavenly religions focus greatly on the moral aspect, and explained that religion is divided into three main pillars: doctrine, law, and morals. Do not accept belief or worship without morals, pointing out that morals in the Islamic religion occupy a high rank and amount to ihsan. He cited the hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, when he was asked about ihsan and said: To worship God as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, He sees you.” Dr. Azab added that worship was initiated to establish moral values. Every worship includes a moral aspect, such as prayer, which requires humility and humility, zakat, which reflects the spirit of purity and piety, fasting, which includes feeling for the poor, and Hajj, which equalizes everyone in its performance, so there is no difference between the rich and the poor. He explained that the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, summarized the goal of his message by saying: “I was sent only to perfect good morals,” and when he was asked about religion, he answered: "Religion is good morals."
He stressed that the moral aspect includes the entire religion, so whoever excels in morals exceeds you in religion, and he considered that morals in Islam are like the soul in relation to the body, since worship without morals is like the body without Spirit, and pointed out that there is a current separation between behavior and worship, as there are those who pray, fast, and give zakat, but they abandon good morals and adopt reprehensible morals.
In the same context, Dr. Hani Odeh stressed that the moral structure reminds us of imitating the morals of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Who was a good role model, and his Lord praised him with the Almighty’s saying, “And indeed, indeed, you are the most exalted in character.” Mrs. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, said about him when she was asked about his character, “His character was the Qur’an.”
The moral structure also indicates the necessity of adornment. With the morals of the Islamic nation, which enjoins what is right and forbids what is wrong, and makes lawful what God has made lawful and forbids what has been forbidden, Dr. Odeh called Young people to have all praiseworthy morals and abandon all reprehensible morals. He called on all professionals to be honest in their work and honest in their dealings. He also alerted doctors to the necessity of honesty towards their patients, and teachers to commit to honesty with their students, and to fear God in the message they carry. He stressed that the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was a role model before his mission, as he was called the Truthful and Trustworthy, and after his mission, God Almighty said about him: “And indeed, indeed, you are of great creation.”
He added that moral building is a result of everything that Islam brought, which came to preserve The five faculties: religion, mind, self, honor, and money. Islam has preserved religion by enjoining honesty and prohibiting lying. It also forbade adultery, ordered marriage, and called for choosing a good wife well. With regard to money, God Almighty called for lawful earning and spending of money.
The director of Al-Azhar Mosque also called on all segments of society to have good morals, stressing the need for men and women to fear God in raising children. Their children, and to strive to build a cohesive family, stressing that the nation will not advance and will not be victorious except by returning to morals that achieve the satisfaction of God Almighty and the satisfaction of His Messenger, peace and blessings of God be upon him.
He explained that Islam preserves the mind, warning against mocking the minds of individuals, and pointing out To what society is witnessing today in adopting reprehensible morals, especially what young people do on social media that call for immorality and debauchery, publishing forbidden matters through which they seek to corrupt themselves and society, and stressed the importance of returning to lofty moral values that are in line with the curriculum. Islamic law, which is considered necessary to build a cohesive and moral society.
