Al-Azhar Mosque: 4,000 students with disabilities studying at the mosque, university, and institutes

For the second week in a row, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque held a new meeting among its programs directed at women, under the title “The Fruit of Cooperation with People of Concern,” within the framework of the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and the follow-up of Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar.

 

And present at this week’s forum were: Dr. Nisreen Samir, professor and former head of the Department of Sociology at the College of Human Studies. Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Dr. Tahani Abu Talib, Assistant Professor of Civil Law in the Sharia and Law Division at the Faculty of Islamic and Arab Studies for Girls in Cairo, Al-Azhar University. The symposium was moderated by Dr. Hayat Al-Issawi, a researcher at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Mosque.

 

Dr. confirmed. Nisreen Samir, the vital role of the family in shaping the personality of a child with special needs, especially in the first stage of socialization, where the family contributes to building self-confidence and enhancing communication with others, which helps the child develop his abilities and overcome challenges. 

 

The sociology professor continued: On the other hand, some families may stigmatize their children as helpless, which hinders their progress and makes them feel afraid of society, as the digital transformation has made possible Important educational and training opportunities for people of determination, as they can now access jobs through remote education and work platforms. These developments have helped them obtain goods and services easily through government and commercial platforms, sparing them many of the challenges they faced in traditional society.

 

Dr. Nisreen Samir, to the efforts made by the Egyptian state in caring for and supporting people of determination, as Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as a university and university, assumes a great responsibility in caring for this group, noting that more than 4,000 students with disabilities are studying at Al-Azhar, and a " Ibsar Center" In several branches of the university, in addition to launching the “Audio Book” project On the educational platform of Al-Azhar, many compensatory and supplementary devices were also provided, and a new program was recently launched by the Islamic Research Academy that includes special lessons and guidance for those with hearing and speech needs, in support of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building.”

 

For her part, Dr. confirmed. Tahani Abu Talib, said that the state’s interest in all groups of people, including children, women, the elderly, and people of determination, is remarkable and has witnessed a continuous increase in recent years, and this is due to increased awareness of the importance of development and the necessity of devoting efforts to the advancement of the state.

She indicated that the first manifestation of this interest is the Constitution’s stipulation of the rights of these groups, in addition to the special legislation that was issued for each group, reviewing the Human Rights Law. Persons with Disabilities No. 10 of 2018, which clarifies the rights of people of determination, including the right to education, vocational preparation and appropriate training, and their right to work, practice cultural activities, and benefit from tourism services.

 

< p>The civil law professor explained that the law imposes penalties for attacks against people of determination or conducting scientific experiments on them without their consent, stressing that the impact of cooperation with people of determination and embodying their role in society has become clear in recent years, as we have witnessed Strong athletic emergence and scientific excellence in various fields. 

 

She continued: "This reflects that ignoring this group and reducing their capabilities means that the state misses out on great opportunities for excellence and advancement, as she stressed The importance of empowering people of determination in all aspects of life, ensuring their opportunity to participate effectively, and providing support and protection to them.”

 

For her part, Dr. Hayat stressed Al-Issawi stressed the importance of cooperation between members of society in accordance with what Sharia law urges, noting that the prophets asked God Almighty to provide them with help, citing the words of our Master Moses: “And my brother Aaron is more eloquent than me in speech, so send him with me as a refuge.” “He believes me.” God responded to him by saying, “We will support you through your brother.”

Within the framework of supporting people with special abilities, she referred to the efforts of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in providing assistance to them through Organizing courses to teach reading and writing in the “Braille” method, and providing prosthetic devices for those in need, and pointed out the keenness of the Al-Azhar corridors administration to support these individuals, whether they are students or lecturers, which helps them to To become productive members of society.
