The Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, in cooperation with the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, held a scientific symposium today, Monday, entitled: “The Role of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority in Community Service,” at the Nasr City Model Complex Institute.
The symposium aimed to raise awareness. students in the fields of peaceful nuclear energy, as well as the importance of applied sciences in achieving sustainable development, in the presence of an elite group of scientists and specialists and a large group of male and female institute students. The symposium opened with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by a speech delivered by Sheikh Ayman Abdel-Ghani, Head of the Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, who stressed Al-Azhar’s keenness to achieve integration between religious sciences and applied sciences.
Dr. Sami Shaaban, Chairman of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, also spoke about the Authority’s role in ensuring nuclear and radiation safety, which contributes to protecting humans and the environment and supporting the use of nuclear technology in the fields. Service.
The symposium included two scientific lectures: The first: presented by Dr. Amr Ismail Kani, about nuclear power plants and nuclear fuel cycles. The second: presented by Dr. Heba Seoudi, entitled: Integration between nuclear energy, hydrogen, and green learning…our path to a more sustainable future.
The symposium witnessed great interaction. The audience asked many questions, which reflects the male and female students’ awareness of the importance of integration between applied science and technology.
