AJ Brown cracked open the cover of his favorite book, ‘Inner Excellence’, after scoring a touchdown during the second quarter of Super Bowl 2025 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brown put the Eagles up 24-0 just before halftime on a touchdown catch from Jalen Hurts, with him reading moments after sitting back down on the bench.
Brown first gained attention for reading ‘Inner Excellence’ during the team’s Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers last month.
The Eagles wide receiver was seen getting into an argument with his head coach, Nick Sirianni, a few minutes before getting into the end zone.
While Brown was reading, Sirianni went over to him and smoothed things over, both with huge smiles on their faces with the dominant lead.
The Eagles led 24-0 heading into halftime with little resistance from the Chiefs.
The author of ‘Inner Excellence’, Jim Murphy, was invited to a Eagles practice after Brown was seen reading his book.
The novel skyrocketed in sales after being in Brown’s hands last month. It became the best selling novel on Amazon for days.
Brown said last month he brings the book ‘Inner Excellence’ by Jim Murphy to every game. After the win against Green Bay, the wide receiver showed his copy of the novel, with passages highlighted and underlined.
The book had also seen plenty of wear and tear, seemingly proving Brown’s story to be true.
‘It gives me a sense of peace,’ Brown said of reading the book during games. ‘That’s a book I bring every single game.’
