Harry Himmelberg and wife Taylia Sarris have welcomed their first child together after two heartbreaking miscarriages.

The AFL star, 28, and Taylia took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a joint post confirming they had welcomed their daughter to the world on December 12.

Confirming her date of birth, they simply penned: ‘12.12.24 Hazel Olive Himmelberg.’

Their happy family news comes just weeks after the couple tied the knot in a low-key wedding ceremony in Melbourne in October.

The couple exchanged vows at a wedding registry with their friends – Harry’s former teammate and current Tigers midfielder Tim Taranto and his partner Tash Hoole – serving as witnesses.

The newlyweds then continued their celebrations at the upscale restaurant Entrecôte in Prahran.

They plan to celebrate with a larger scale ceremony with their family, friends and baby daughter in 2025.

The couple got engaged last year when Harry got down on one knee during a rainy night in Paris to pop the question against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.

The couple have had a difficult time since getting engaged after suffering two heartbreaking miscarriages before welcoming their baby daughter.

Taylia, who is a content creator and fashion stylist, has spoken openly about her pregnancy losses in recent months.

She told the Herald Sun that she was anxious ahead of the birth of her daughter after her devastating miscarriages.

‘It is pretty scary, the whole process, until she’s born and we get to hold her I don’t think that anxiety will go away because you never know what can happen,’ she said.

Harry added that ‘stigma’ around miscarriage is still very prominent and being told by doctors it’s quite common ‘eased their minds’ throughout the heartbreaking process.

‘That was hard because you think this isn’t normal or you panic. There are people much worse off than us and to fall pregnant is a blessing,’ he said.

Up to one in five women will have a miscarriage before 20 weeks, according to the Australian Royal Women’s Hospital.

The actual number is likely to be higher, inclusive of women who miscarry without knowing that they are pregnant.

Taylia and Harry announced her pregnancy on Instagram in June, sharing a heartfelt video of a gender reveal involving their two dogs eating a specially made cake to reveal pink frosting inside.

‘Two becomes three,’ Taylia captioned the video, which also featured a snapshot of an ultrasound.
