Because Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is a global institution, and one of its first priorities is teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, it established a special center to develop the education of foreign students. He completed a number of linguistic programmes, projects and initiatives, the most prominent of which are: Al-Azhar International Program for Spreading the Arabic Language in All Countries of the World, and the Linguistic Coexistence Programme. With it, a new type of tourism emerged. It is linguistic tourism, as well as a program for developing language skills in the fields of linguistic correction, literary editing, literary and rhetorical analysis of texts and diction. It also launched the Al-Azhar International Arabic Language Index document, which aims to evaluate regional and international institutions for teaching and classifying the Arabic language.
