Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar discusses with officials of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Virginia ways to enhance scientific cooperation
The Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar for International Students, Dr. Nahla Al-Saidi, discussed with officials of the Faculty of Usul Al-Din in the US state of Virginia, ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the faculty, through the exchange of scientific and academic expertise and experiences, as well as enhancing cultural exchange between the two sides, which allows students and researchers to benefit from the available educational and research resources, which contributes to developing their academic skills and enhancing their understanding of cultural and religious diversity, in addition to supporting joint research and academic projects that contribute to solving contemporary issues and challenges.
This came during Al-Saidi’s meeting – via the Internet – with the faculty officials, where she reviewed the great role played by Al-Azhar in serving international students, harnessing all the necessary capabilities to serve them, developing sufficient scientific programs and strategies necessary to develop them and raise their scientific and psychological efficiency, and providing them with the latest modern technological means that keep pace with the times, noting that they enjoy constant and continuous follow-up from His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-AzharShe stressed Al-Azhar’s keenness to open up to all major educational institutions around the world, through cooperation protocols concluded with various universities and educational institutions, to spread the Arabic language and Islamic culture, noting that Al-Azhar is constantly seeking to enhance scientific and cultural communication with global academic institutions, through organizing international seminars and conferences, exchanging academic and research expertise, and sending educational missions and envoys abroad. The advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar pointed to the efforts made by the Center for the Development of Education for Foreign and Incoming Students, and the educational programs it offers to students from inside and outside Egypt, such as the “Conversation and Equivalence” program. "Distance Education Programs", and "Arabic Language Teaching Programs for Non-Native Speakers", noting that the center provides many educational services that aim to support incoming students in their scientific and academic career.
For their part, officials of the College of Fundamentals of Religion in Virginia expressed their appreciation for the efforts of His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar abroad to consolidate the values of brotherhood, peace and interfaith dialogue, and His Eminence’s keenness to enhance cooperation with all international educational bodies and institutions.
They praised His Eminence’s efforts in building bridges of communication between different cultures, stressing that his efforts had a positive impact in enhancing mutual understanding and respect for cultural and religious diversity, expressing their aspiration for the continuation of these fruitful efforts and their development in a way that achieves more benefit for the international community and contributes to building a common future of peace and harmony.
