Abu Dhabi, 1st August, 2018 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team will depart for Italy tomorrow, Friday, to set up a training camp and participate in the 29th edition of the Aura Cup, to be held from 10th to 12th August on Lake Laguarda, with the participation of more than 500 sailors representing 30 countries.
The Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team is represented by Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Zayed Al Hosani, Thiab Al Muhairi, Hamad Al Muhairi and Abdullah Al Zubaidi, under the supervision of coach Albert Tarhan, and will begin its training camp in the Optimist category on Lake Lagarda.
Salem Al Rumaithi, General Manager of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, confirmed that participation in the Italian Championship is part of the development agenda of the Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Teams, and the club’s continuation in discovering talents, developing capabilities and enhancing skills in order to later join the modern sailing teams.
Al Rumaithi said: “We continue to develop and prepare the young generations in the club for future international participation, and also so that the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy will be a major supporter of the national teams.”
