A surge in Egyptian-African cooperation numbers

During the celebration of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, last week, regarding Egyptian diplomatic efforts over the past six decades, Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty spoke about a set of numbers and statistics that reflect the volume of Egyptian cooperation and support for African countries over the past years.

The numbers of joint aid and cooperation between Egypt and Africa showed a major boom, reflecting the Egyptian policy of openness and partnership with the countries of the continent, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke about the role of three agencies within the Ministry The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to strengthen cooperation with the countries of the continent. The first of these institutions is the Institute for Diplomatic Studies, which was established in 1966, noting that the institute provides training to more than 350 diplomats and officials annually from Arab and African countries.

In front of the second body. It is the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, which was established in 1994. The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that the number of trainees at the Center for peacekeeping and conflict mitigation efforts is about 30 thousand trainees, during the past three decades, in addition to programs on climate change, peace and development, youth, peace and security, and post-conflict reconstruction.

The third body, is the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, which was launched during the twenty-third summit. To the African Union in 2014, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that over the past decade, the agency has organized more than 700 training courses attended by more than 20,000 trainees, and sent more than 120 experts to African and Islamic countries, sending more than 20 medical convoys to the countries of the South, and sending 195 containers with logistical, humanitarian and medical aid to Africa. The agency also bore the costs of studying for 62 students in Egyptian universities, in addition to implementing a number of development projects in the Nile Basin countries, the most important of which are : Contributing to establishing medical centers, constructing and repairing power stations, digging wells and building rainwater tanks in many of these countries.
