A leader in the future of our nation: The new criminal procedure law reflects the state’s efforts to achieve timely justice

Counselor Shaaban Raafat Abdel Latif, Secretary of Central Legal Affairs of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, said that the new draft criminal procedure law is a serious step by the state to achieve timely justice, and at the same time enhances the state’s efforts towards achieving more gains in the file of rights and freedoms. And in line with the state’s efforts represented in the National Human Rights Strategy.

Abdul Latif added that the new law included many gains, most notably the establishment of an integrated and disciplined organization for cases of financial compensation for imprisonment. Reserve, activating protection for the rights of women and children and providing the necessary assistance to people with disabilities and the elderly, abolishing the section on physical coercion and replacing it with the obligation to work for public benefit, developing an integrated regulation of advertising systems to keep pace with the country’s development towards digital transformation alongside traditional advertising.

Counselor Shaaban Raafat Abdel Latif pointed out that the law also dealt with regulating the cases and procedures of investigation and trial remotely in accordance with modern technologies in a way that ensures the simplification of litigation procedures and the achievement of timely justice, while ensuring the provision of effective legal protection for witnesses, informants, experts, victims, defendants, and other rights that are granted. It keeps pace with the modern state, mechanization, digitization and digital transformation in a system of the most important and prominent files related to the lives of citizens.

The Secretary of Central Legal Affairs of the Nation’s Future Party confirmed that the law is a second constitution.
