A delegation from Egypt’s public libraries visits the headquarters of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority
A delegation from Egypt’s public libraries headed by Ambassador Mohamed Reda Al-Taifi, Director of the Egypt Public Libraries Fund, visited today the headquarters of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, as this visit is the first of its kind, following the signing of the cooperation protocol between the two bodies last October.< /p>
This visit comes in the context of getting to know the Authority, its role, and its supervisory and regulatory activities closely, as Tamer Hatem, Head of the Legal Affairs Department, gave a presentation during which he talked about the establishment of the Authority and the framework. The legal and regulatory role, as well as its supervisory role, was followed by a presentation by Dr. Mustafa Darwish, Head of the Technical Support and Laboratories Department, in which he talked about the role played by the Technical Support and Laboratories Department and its support for the regulatory sectors, through measuring devices, nuclear and radiological detection, and the efforts it provides regarding Maintenance and modernization of these devices.
For his part, Dr. Sami Shaaban, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, stressed – during the visit – the necessity of communicating with the public and raising awareness of the culture of nuclear security and safety. And radiation, with a focus on youth and youth, as they are the future generation, and Egypt’s human wealth for the coming years.
In turn, Ambassador Mohamed Reda Al-Taifi, Director of the Egypt Public Libraries Fund, stressed during the visit the interest of Egypt’s public libraries in delivering scientific content. Which the Authority presents to the public, especially young people, in a simplified manner, and in a manner appropriate to different ages.
He stressed the importance of the presence of the Authority’s magazine and its various publications and brochures in all public libraries in Egypt at the level of Republic to introduce the important and pivotal role played by the Authority in regulating and monitoring all nuclear and radiological activities within the Arab Republic of Egypt.
It was agreed to hold coordination meetings regarding the awareness-raising work plan for next year 2025.
p>The Chairman of the Authority conducted an introductory tour within the Authority to introduce its various capabilities and resources. The tour concluded with a visit to the Public Awareness Center and a group photo of both sides.
