A cooperation protocol between the National Elections Corporation and the Ministry of Culture to spread awareness of political rights and electoral participation
The National Elections Authority and the Ministry of Culture concluded a cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening efforts to educate citizens about the importance of realizing their political rights, especially the right to vote in various electoral entitlements.
Councilor Hazem Badawi, Chairman of the National Elections Authority, and the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, on the cooperation protocol, in the presence of the two members of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Counselors Mahmoud Rasheed and Abdel Hamid Najashi, and in the presence of the Director of the Executive Body of the Authority, Counselor Ahmed Bandari, and the Deputy Directors of the Executive Body. The cooperation protocol includes the exchange of experiences between the two sides in areas related to issues of raising community awareness of the importance of participating in various electoral elections in order to enhance democratic practice and shed light on the roles played by It includes the National Elections Authority in the field of implementing and guaranteeing the political rights of citizens, especially preserving the right to vote and protecting the will of voters regarding various entitlements.
The cooperation protocol also includes a partnership between the National Elections Authority and the Ministry of Culture in establishing Organizing seminars and cultural events hosted by cultural palaces and cultural forums in various governorates, aiming to educate the public of citizens from different segments, ages, and interests, about their rights to political participation, decision-making, and the future of the nation as a whole, through choosing their representatives and candidates in the elections.
The advisor stressed Hazem Badawi, Chairman of the National Elections Authority, said that the Authority spares no effort to open channels of communication with the people of the country and its institutions, within the framework of its role to raise awareness of one of the most important political rights and work mechanisms. Democratic, which is the right to vote and the role of the body in protecting the will of voters and managing and supervising all entitlements in a manner consistent with the correct provisions of the Constitution, the law and established international norms in this regard.
He pointed out that the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Culture represents a joint commitment. It stems from a deep belief in the importance of establishing a system of positive cultural values in Egyptian society, which respects diversity and difference, and promotes electoral culture among all segments of society, given that the active citizen is the cornerstone of the edifice of democracy, and that his free choice is the foundation on which It is a just and stable state.
Counsel Hazem Badawi said that the unprecedented popular participation in the recent presidential elections, which was the subject of wide international praise, reflected the extent of the Egyptian citizen’s adherence to his political rights and duties, which constituted an impetus for preparing the cooperation protocol. Which is based on disseminating cultural and awareness-raising materials, exchanging experiences, and promoting democratic practice among all segments of society regardless of their cultures, which reflects the vision of the new republic that we all aspire to, expressing his appreciation to the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad.
