Today, a delegation from the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church, representing His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, traveled to Asmara to participate in the election of the sixth Patriarch of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church.
The Coptic delegation consists of Their Eminences Bishop Daniel, Metropolitan of Maadi and the Secretary The Holy Synod, Bishop Angelos, General Bishop of the Churches of the Northern Shubra Sector, Bishop Bigol, Bishop and President of the Muharraq Monastery, and Bishop Dioscorus, Bishop and Head of the Monastery of Saint Yahnes Al-Qusayr on the El Alamein Road.
It is worth noting that there is a protocol signed between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, stipulating the necessity of either church participating in the procedures for electing the patriarch. New.
