Cairo University has brought down the curtain on the student elections that took place in a transparent democratic atmosphere, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of the University, in which the student Bassem El-Gohary Hilal at the Faculty of Agriculture, headed by the University Students Union, won, and the student Nada Tamer Ibrahim at the Faculty of Planning won. Regional and Urban Vice-President of the Union, and 14 secretaries and an assistant secretary for the higher committees were elected.
The election process took place for the president of the University Students Union and his deputy. By secret ballot, with the participation of 38 male and female students, presidents and deputies of student unions at the university’s faculties, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Rajab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Awadhi, Vice President of the Faculty of Law for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Samir, member of the Supreme Elections Committee, and Professor Faraj Eid, Director of the General Administration for Welfare. Youth at the university.
After the end of the elections, Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq congratulated the winning students, stressing that Cairo University had provided a model for electoral practice. It witnessed a democratic experience on the ground, through which distinguished student elements were elected to cooperate with it in the coming period, adding that the university will cooperate with the students of the college unions in a way that serves all university students.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq directed the Student Union Council to hold a meeting next Sunday in Ahmed Lotfy Al-Sayed Hall to discuss the work plan during the next stage and listen to their proposals in preparation for implementing the appropriate ones, directing Thanks to Dr. Ahmed Ragab, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, as well as the Youth Welfare Departments and all members of the Supreme Committee supervising the elections.
