A lecture by the Director of the Library of Alexandria in the centenary "Mustafa Suef" at Cairo University

The Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, organized a cultural celebration on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the start of studies in the Department of Psychology, and on the occasion of the centenary of the late Professor Mustafa Suef, founder of the Department of Psychology. Dr. Ahmed Zayed delivered; The Director of the Library of Alexandria gave a lecture on this occasion entitled “Social Sciences in the Post-Modern World,” during which he stressed the importance of master’s and doctoral dissertations keeping up with the changes, and not being satisfied with traditional classical studies in sociology.

The lecture witnessed a large gathering of professors from the various departments of the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, and the corresponding colleges in many Egyptian universities, in addition to large numbers of students from the Faculty of Arts and its departments.

The celebration was held under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, President of the University, and Dr. Naglaa Raafat Salem, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and was organized by Dr. Fikri Al-Eter, Rapporteur of the Conferences and Seminars Committee, and Dr. Safaa Ismail Morsi, Head of the Psychology Department, gave a speech in which she talked about Dr.’s journey. Mustafa Suef with a degree in psychology, which culminated in his dismissal from the Department of Philosophy, and I read the last things he wrote in his handwriting before his departure from his scientific journey. The session was chaired by Dr. Moataz Sayed Abdullah Suleiman, Professor of Psychology and Assistant to the President of the University, and he spoke about Dr. Ahmed Zayed’s scientific journey and his achievements that made him one of the most important Sociologists. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Najla Raafat, Dean of the College, honored Dr. Zayed and presented him with the college shield.
