He also expressed his thanks to the Coptic Orthodox Church for its role in preserving the faith throughout the ages, and for the profound spirituality and teachings it provides that enable Christians all over the world to benefit from them and be influenced by them.

Pastor Pillay emphasized the Council’s extensive efforts to promote world peace, stressing the need to work to achieve justice and societal peace.

For his part, His Holiness the Pope gave his guests an overview of the history of Egypt and the Coptic Orthodox Church, highlighting the good relations that unite the Church with all sectors of Egyptian society. He also emphasized the strength of national unity that brings all sectors of the Egyptian people together, indicating that the Coptic Church does not interfere in politics, but participates in constructive national and societal work for the sake of the nation.

His Holiness the Pope concluded by emphasizing the Church’s commitment to promoting the values ​​of practical love and peaceful coexistence.
