Minister of Justice: The new formation of the Legislative Committee represents a qualitative leap in supporting the Egyptian legislative system
The Supreme Committee for Legislative Reform held its sixteenth meeting, and the meeting was chaired by Counselor Adnan Fanjari, Minister of Justice and rapporteur of the committee, and in the presence of the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Parliamentary and Legal Affairs, and Political Communication.
The Minister of Justice confirmed that the new formation of the committee, which includes a distinguished elite of lawmen, judiciaries, university professors, lawyers, and public figures, represents a qualitative leap in support of the Egyptian legislative system.
He pointed out that the presence of these prominent legal competencies enhances the committee’s ability to contribute to building solid legislation that supports the state’s vision towards sustainable development.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Legislative Reform, and the advisors and members of the secretariat, reviewed the topics on the agenda, which included proposals and drafts of new laws, as well as mechanisms to evaluate the legislative impact of existing and new legislation.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the need to accelerate the pace of work on evaluating the legislative impact to enhance the efficiency of current legislation and its compatibility with national goals.
The members of the committee also stressed the importance of continuous coordination between the concerned authorities, to bring about a qualitative transformation in the Egyptian legislative environment, in a way that achieves complete justice, enhances the investment climate, and supports the goals of economic and social development.
